ISATS are over, and the week went really well. Thank you to all that donated snacks for the week!
I could tell the test was more intense as students worked up to the very last second and some did not even finish the reading extended responses on the first day. With the new state ISAT cut scores, please prepare yourself and your child for "possible" lower placement scores. I took my students 4th grade scores and applied the new cut scores and here are the results.
In reading 9 students were in the Exceeds range, with the new cut scores, it resulted with only 3 students in the Exceeds range. In the Meets range it went from 6 students to 12.
In Math there were 10 students in Exceeds and with the new scores there were 3 left. In the Meets range the count went from 10 to 14, and the Below range went from 0 to 2.
So as you can see, scores might come back differently, especially with the higher level thinking common core items that took more time, included on this year's test.
