This Wednesday is the Academic Fair.  There will be many projects on display from every grade level.  Presentation boards are due Monday and students should be prepared with their 5 minute oral presentations.  Presentations will be given throughout the week as time allows unless your child is in the actual Academic Fair.

Students will be meeting again for the last of the health talks.  We will be meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday during our regular scheduled switching schedule.

Please make sure your child is charging their iPads nightly.  I am having many students that are not charging during the night and come to school with 7% battery charge.

I will not be assigning math homework on Wednesday so those in the fair don't feel overwhelmed.

Have a great week!

Weekly Update

Friday is a scheduled day off of school, and Monday is our field trip to Robert Crown Health Center.  Final Copy research papers are due tomorrow, Monday.  Grammar is also due.  This week students will present their Toontastic throughout the week to display their last novel that they read.
Tuesday will be the first of three health talks.  Mr. Packer will be talking with the boys about the topics brought up at Robert Crown, and Ms. Tresselt , Ms. Ndiaye, and  myself will be talking with the girls.  The other two talks will take place Wed. and Thurs. next week during our scheduled switching time.

Students now must prepare their presentation boards about their topics and 5 minute oral reports.  They may use notecards for prompting, but they may not read off of them,  read off a prepared paper, or read off of their presentation boards.   This part is the final part and is due April 21.  Students in the actual academic fair will present on Wed during the day and in the evening

Spring is finally peeking around the corner!  This also means it gets tougher to keep your child's attention on school work.  Please have a discussion that we have 2 more months of school, and they need to put just as much effort as the past 7 months.

Tomorrow Academic Fair Research Paper rough drafts are due for check.  Please remind your child to bring it to school.  The final paper is due in a week on the 14th of April!  This gives your child a week to  get their presentation boards and 5 minute oral reports ready for that due date of
April 21st.  The actual Academic Fair and Egg Drop is Wednesday April 23rd.  Your child has a choice of presenting in the fair.  If they choose not to be in the Fair, then they will present to the class in the classroom.

Thursday we will be walking to Julian for the 6th grade Orientation.  We will leave at 8:30am and be back in time for students to eat their lunch at their scheduled time in the lunchroom.  That evening is your turn at 7pm, please plan on attending  this important informational meeting.
Thursday students have a quiz on the investigation for Lifeboats.  They will be bringing home their lab books on Monday so they can study.  There will be a review on Tuesday.  Students in Tresselt and Ndiaye's Class will be taking this quiz on Tuesday.

The work for this week's Treasures story will be DUE on Monday 4/14 as we will miss reading instruction on Thursday.  Grammar books are also due on this day.

Please click on this link and check out the assignment that is due for Social Studies.  Students are creating a timeline of dates using Explain Everything on their iPads.
