Map testing is completed.  I have the results which I will share with you at your conference time.  If you would like to see them before your conference  Please just let me know and I will give you a copy of the results ahead of time!

There is a Social Studies test coming up very soon.  I do not know the exact date so please ask your child.

February 1st   A rough OUTLINE of the research             paper.  Students should have an idea of what headings they want to include and research on their topic.

April 11th       ROUGH DRAFT Due
April 20th       FINAL TYPED COPY DUE and    academic fair presentation board

Art Sketchbooks

Here is a list of the sketchbook assignments the students have done for the 2nd trimester. There are a few students who haven't turned in any yet and several who are missing one or two drawings. Please check with your child to make sure these assignments are completed.

2nd Trimester Drawings:
1. Draw something you did during Thanksgiving break.
2. Draw something you can do with snow.
3. Free Draw
4. Draw something you did during Winter Break.
5. Free draw (due next week)

MAP testing

Students will be taking the Reading MAP test this week on Tuesday morning.  Next week they will be given the math test.  Please discuss with your child the importance of doing their best on these tests. 

Reminders

Book Reports are due THIS Wednesday, Jan 5th.

Topics for  the Academic Fair are due tomorrow.  It must be a topic that can be researched as a 5+  page typed research paper will be due for this project that will be their 2nd trimester research grade.

Please begin to put  together the items that need to be returned for the outdoor education trip at the end of this month.  We will need the following items within the next two weeks. 


        1.  Student health form
        2.  Student/Parent PBIS contract
        3.  Payment in cash or check.  Please make out checks to District 97

There will be NO MORE spelling packets!

Students will be required to study on their own and complete classroom work for weekly words.

If you go to http://www.spellingcity.com  there are games your child can play online. Search my name and then the lesson for the week.

Extra credit for Thursday night homework consists of each word 3X or 10X each for 1-2 raffle tickets.
